Medium-ship and healing have been part of my life for so long that I forget how unusual my day-to-day life can be to others. So, if anyone out there is interested, I will try to keep you informed on a few of my clients:

Spirit,Hungarian circus pony dreams of Saint Tropez
Spirit has certainly had SPIRIT throughout his life and even more so during the trying time
with his poorly front feet; He has gone from Aladin Slippers to dainty toes, handmade
shoes with rubber inserts, Knees
that would not bend, a dramatic
day with the vet and Playdough yet he still walks on. He is a pony with a
zest for living and poorly feet will not stop him!
Now Jessica’s dear farrier John, has come up with
another ingenious idea to help Spirit move with comfort; FLIP-FLOPS! Yes, those
wonderful soft rubber beach shoes that slip between your toes; FLIP-Flops for
Spirit. John could be seen wandering around the local clothes shop picking up
all manner of shoes and other items, bending and squeezing them to imagine how they
might work. When he came across the FLIP-FLOPS at £4.00 a pair his hunting was
over; armed with four pairs of assorted colours he proceeded to the check-out.
The flip-flops were cut to shape and glued to
Spirit’s front feet, within an hour Spirit was tripping across the gravel driveway
as if he was on a beach in Saint Tropez much to Jessica and John’s delight.. Down
the track he ambled marching round to eat the lawn in the front garden then
back round past the goose feed and home... all on hard ground.
I’m not sure how long they will last over the
gravel but at that price he can have as many as he likes in all different
colours!

Tazz dog
Dear Tazz became weak on Sunday, his legs were struggling to
lift him and he seemed happy to stay in his bed.
I saw him on Tuesday; his Chi
(energy) was very weak, Sheila and I were in agreement that Tazz had decided it
was time to move on to the next life. He was not in any distress or pain, just
weak. As with all owners, I suggested Sheila told Tazz that it was okay for him
to go, she would miss him but she would be all right. This often gives the
animal or person permission to let go..... seems she had already done so!
Tazz passed away quietly on Wednesday from old age. It was a
privilege to have known both Tazz and his family.

Spirit's Playdough!
Paul did his magic on Spirit’s other front foot to make
a new shape and size, a new x-ray of it was taken and Paul was happy to carry
on with Spirit’s new shoes!.... until he offered up the smallest shoe
available... It was far too big for Spirit’s tiny feet; it could not be done.
Paul was not about to give up after all his
efforts. He rummaged in his truck and re-appeared with a pair of aluminium
shoes, glue, special card (not
red!) and playdough (yes, the stuff
kids play with!).
For the next fifteen minutes Paul created two new
shoes, glued to Spirit’s feet with a rubber cushion and a wad of Playdough
protecting the delicate part of his soles.
All the actors in Spirit’s play were pleased with
the end result... including sleepy Spirit.
The next few days or weeks would
tell if it was enough to allow Spirit to walk normally and continue to enjoy
his tricks, doing
his rodeo, rolling, biting,
chasing, watching
over orphaned ducks, carrying
saws, throwing
bricks, dismantling
electric fences, eating
five packs of Polos, limbo dancing under the fencing, sneaking
the goose feed from the dustbin and being the life and soul of Blacky,
Jessica and all on the farm.

The Look
'The Look' is
the wonderful moment of connection between myself and the animal I am giving
healing to.
Generally
an initial visit to Helen The Healer is fraught with questions from the animal;
Where am I going, is it the vet? Am I going to be left there? Will it hurt? Am
I going to have any needles or thermometers put in nasty places? All these
questions and more race through the poor animal’s mind so it is no wonder they
are suspicious of me at first.
I will
have a chat with the owner first whilst the animal either, has a good sniff
around the room trying to figure out its purpose, or snuggles in as close as possible
to his owner’s legs for protection.
Then the
dancing starts: I join the animal on the floor and send him healing whilst
trying to gain his trust, having managed to place my hand on him I’ll start to put
calm energies through. He will stay still for a minute or two, enjoying the
feeling then come to his senses with a jolt realising it is a weird feeling he
has never felt before so instinct will kick in; instinct to move away from the
unknown. He will walk away from me, but not so far that I cannot follow, where
he will settle back down again, almost taunting me to do it again.
I crawl across
the floor to where he is settled and we start the healing again.
This can
go on for three or four times before he gives me ‘The Look’; No matter which
way he is looking he will swiftly and precisely turn his head to look me
straight in the eyes with a look that says ‘Is that you doing that?’ I smile
and calmly say out loud ‘Yes that’s me.’ Where he will be satisfied to then
settle completely on the floor to receive the rest of the lovely energy pulsing
through his body, often so relaxed he will fall asleep.
